It is the best of times. It is the worst of times

You may be grappling to understand how, possibly, can the present times be labeled as the best of times?

However, what if there is a silver lining after all?

1.The best thing that the pandemic has taught us is that it shows no discrimination, thus reinforcing that all humans are equal in the eyes of nature.

2. The prevalence of mental health anxiety issues has become a reality that we can no longer ignore.

3. It has allowed us to spend time with our loved ones, as all the havoc on account of the virus has made us realize the importance of our kin.

4. One cannot deny that this unruly monster has made our near and dear ones dearer to us, simply because we now find ourselves lucky to have them as life is fleeting and may be lost in a moment.

5. Besides, it has brought into limelight the universal truth: All we got is each other.

Now, the innumerous lives lost, countless families destroyed, economies falling, and the death toll ever-rising indicate why it is the worst of times.

Coming to why it is all tragic. Because man has brought his own doom: despite repeated reminders and warnings by governments across the globe to us, we threw the precautions of social distancing and wearing masks to the wind. So, where we could have averted the situation from worsening, callousness became our hamartia and brought our downfall.

Nevertheless, it’s never too late. Still, we can make amends and stop the situation from getting even worse by taking the necessary precautions at all times.
